Money Walkers for this week: Lewis Shaw, Marcia Leedy, and David Curtis Ushers for next week: The Laubaugh Family Monday, March 8th is Ministry Night – meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. YOUTH NEWS The Youth and Young Adult Ministry team will NOT be meeting on Monday, March 8 th . We will see you at our next meeting on Monday, April 12 th at 7:00 p.m. Please SIGN-UP to attend EASTER BREAKFAST – The youth and the Youth Mission Committee will be sponsoring a breakfast from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. (between the 9 a.m. and the 11 a.m. Easter Services) on April 4 . There will be a free-will offering with all proceeds going to benefit the 2010 Youth Mission Trip to the U.P. Please sign-up to attend, on the sheet posted on the Youth News bulletin board, so we know how much food to purchase. We are collecting recipes for a CHURCH COOKBOOK – Do you have favorite family recipes, church tradition recipes, or just a great dish to share? We want to hear from you! The youth, through the Youth Mission Committee, are collecting recipes for a church cookbook. Please pick-up your “Recipe Collection Forms” from the church office. (Please put only ONE recipe on each form.) Once we have enough recipes to create a cookbook, we will issue a deadline for recipe submission, so we don't miss any must-have recipes. As you are filling out the Recipe Collection Form, please include any special recipe notes that you would like included. For example, John's favorite brownies, or “This recipe was served at Rummage Sale lunches, funeral luncheons, Dinners for 6, etc”. Turn your Recipe Collection Forms into the church office. We hope to have the book printed and ready for Christmas gift giving. Climb Kalamazoo – April 16 th – The Youth Group will be visiting Climb Kalamazoo on Friday, April 16 th from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This is open to all Middle and Senior High students and their friends. Tickets cost $10.00 each. RSVP to Amy by March 28. We are still looking for adult chaperones, please see Amy, if you can help. Rock the Coast – This event is held at Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon, on Saturday, May 22 nd . Tickets include admission to Michigan's Adventure, lunch in the park, and the concert on Saturday night, all for just $35. (You will want to bring spending money for dinner and snacks.) You must sign-up by May 2. We will leave the church at 11:00 a.m. The rides will run until 6:00 p.m. The concert begins around 6:30 p.m. and runs until 10:30 p.m. We will return to the church about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. This event is open to all Middle and Senior High students and their families. Christian Camp Scholarships: Middle and Senior High students, if you are planning to attend a Christian Summer Camp, you can apply for a camp scholarship in the Youth and Young Adult Ministry office. Simply submit a letter telling us what camp you are going to and request a scholarship. See Amy if you have questions. The Youth Group is running low on bottled water and we can always use cereal, PopTarts, granola bars, and cans of pop. If you are able to donate any of these items, please leave them on the table at the top of the stairs on the 3 rd Floor. Thank you! ADULT MINISTRIES ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL TODAY: FAITHWEAVERS begin the study of the book of Acts today, with various members of the class rotating leadership. This is a great time to add something to your Sunday routine, and learn more about this challenging book of the bible! SPIRITBUILDERS are continuing their study of Come Thirsty , by Max Lucado. All are welcome to either class. OTHER Lakewood High School Vagabonds Dinner Theatre 100 years of Broadway will be on March 26th and 27th. Seating begins at 6:00 p.m., dinner served at 6:30. Cost is $16. Reservation forms on the counter in the church office, or see Vallory Bunday. PRAYER ROOM! It's a beautiful beginning! Come visit and find out what God has for you. Maybe it will be peace, love, rest, laughter, tears, joy, wonder, help, release, forgiveness, fellowship, quiet, answers, or understanding. You may visit the prayer room any time the church is open throughout Lent. The room is located downstairs across from the 1st and 2nd grade classroom, next to the Adult Ministry Classroom. This is the last day to visit the prayer station for Worry – a new one will be set up for those who have experience loss. Loss of health, job, home, loved one, beloved pet, purity, direction. CALLING ALL MEN : The men's group will continue to meet. They started yesterday March 6th for breakfast at 8 AM at Big Boy followed by coffee, great fellowship, devotions and conversation at 9 AM at the church. The men are also gathering at Mills' Landing at 8 AM on Wednesday mornings too!. Please join us for good food, a few good stories and a lot of laughs. Dr. Jim Spindler The Deacons once again are arranging Easter flower orders. You may select from daffodils or tulips. Flowers cost $6.50 each and order forms are available in the Narthex and office hallway. Orders can be turned into the office or mailed to Kristen Laubaugh- 310 W. Madison St. Hastings. Orders must be placed by Wednesday, March 24th. Sorry, no late orders will be accepted. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance through Church World Service has requested an urgent need for hygiene packs and baby care kits for the earthquake survivors in Haiti. Please sign out the tags located in the hallway of the church for an item or items that you are able to provide for these kits – we have tried to group them in price ranges, so everyone who wishes to contribute can participate. Bring the items and tags back to the church and place them in the boxes by the coat racks marked “Haiti Relief Kits” no later than March 21st. Please keep in your prayers... Bruce Curtis , Willard and Carolyn's son, who has been diagnosed with cancer, and is undergoing treatment. Mike Reynolds who had a successful surgery to replace his pacemaker battery on March 1st. Jodi Hubbert , Joyce Dilworth's daughter, who had surgery March 1st. Barb Crummel's mother, Bertha Russell. Linda , Gary Kimble's cousin, who had by-pass surgery. Allison , Krista Loftus' daughter, who had her appendix's removed. Robert Martin, who was admitted to the hospital. Ruby Barnes, who was at Pennock following a fall last week. Thank you all for remembering the Mayhew family in prayer as Anissa continues therapy, to try to regain movement and speech from her devastating stroke last fall.
